Vestas

At the blade factory at the port of Nakskov, some of the world's largest wind turbine blades are produced and shipped to the rest of the world. In 2015, Vestas restarted production in Nakskov after a 5-year break at the factory, which was built on Vingevej in 2000.

WiSH by SEiMEi

Local, eco-friendly, healthy food that also gives back to charity. The SEiMEi factory in Nakskov produces cold-pressed, organic, whole grain juice. The project was started in Holeby by local enthusiast Tine Vinther Clausen in 2008 and the factory moved to Nakskov in 2013.

Sugar factory

One of Denmark's remaining 2 active sugar factories is located in the center of Nakskov town. When it was built in 1883, it was one of Europe's largest sugar factories. Today, the factory is owned by the German company Nordic Sugar, which is investing heavily in upgrading the factory, which has the capacity to process 12,500 tons of beet per day.

Frederiksdal Cherry Wine

Just outside Nakskov, Frederiksdal Estate is located in one of the sunniest and warmest areas in Denmark. Ideal for growing the ancient Danish Stevnskirsebær, also known as the "Grape of the North", from which they produce 120,000 liters of award-winning gourmet cherry wine every year.

Crispy Food

In 1898, Denmark's first oatmeal mill, AVENA, started in Maribo, which in 1913 moved production to Nakskov. In 1915, the factory took the name Ota. In 1933, the factory registered Ota Solgryn as a trademark. Before that, Ota had become part of the American The Quaker Oats Company in 1930. From 1990, the factory has been called Nakskov Mill Foods A/S. In 2020, Mill Foods merged with Crispy Food in Gørlev and continues under the name Crispy Food as Denmark's largest producer of breakfast cereals.

Ortofon

Ortofon is known worldwide for its turntable pickups - which are produced in Nakskov, where the factory has been located since its establishment in 1918. In addition to hi-fi electronics, they produce a variety of specialized fine electronics products, including hearing aids.

Alfa Laval

The company produces the finest filters on the market with pore sizes ranging from microfiltration, nanofiltration and ultrafiltration to reverse osmosis membranes where separation is based on molecular size. The department in Nakskov currently employs 125 people and has employees at all levels - from unskilled workers to PhDs and international specialists from all over the world

Nordic Air Filtration

The Nakskov company Nordic Air Filtration produces air filters at its factory in Nakskov, which are exported all over the world. The filters, which are otherwise more expensive than their competitors, are of a particularly high quality that makes them sought after, especially as environmental requirements for industry and power plants become stricter around the world. The factory expanded massively in 2019 following investments in the Chinese market.

C.E. Andersen

Christian Emil Andersen founded his machine factory in Nakskov in 1952 and has since specialized in high-quality stainless steel welding. Today, C.E. Andersen supplies quality stainless steel products to several different industries, including the pharmaceutical industry, where equipment requirements are high and many years of orbital welding experience is necessary.
