The Old Smithy

In Tilegade you will find the old smithy, which has been preserved as a working museum from the time of industrialization. It is a nice little attraction that gives a vivid picture of the market town's functions that were the basis for the city's early industrialization.

Maritime Museum

Nakskov has a proud maritime history, which you can learn all about at the Nakskov Ship and Maritime Museum, located in Klostergade. The Nakskov Shipyard is where, among other things, the training ship Danmark and Jutlandia were built. Since the shipyard closed in 1987, the harbor area has been converted to modern industrial production, where a number of companies have renovated the area.

The old print shop

In the basement of the city's local archive, you'll find a collection of locally used printing machines that are kept alive by a number of local volunteer typographers and mechanical geeks, including from the former local newspaper Ny Dag.

Sugar Museum

The Lolland soil is perfect for growing beets and this has been the basis for a strong local tradition of beet production and processing. Today, the 2 last remaining Danish sugar factories are located in Nakskov and Nykøbing Falster. At the Danish Sugar Museum, located close to the sugar factory in Nakskov, you can learn more about the history.
