Sydkaj
On the south side of the harbor quay in Nakskov, 2 new apartment buildings were built in 2025, taking architectural inspiration from the city's old warehouses.
Queen Sophie's Bridge
In 2025, the new footbridge was inaugurated, leading from the south quay to the waterfront in extension of Dronningensstræde. There was actually a bridge at this location until 1875, which was called Langebro. When the new bridge with lock gate was built after the storm surge in 1872, which still exists today, it was therefore named Nybro. The new footbridge has been named Dronning Sophies Bro after the Dowager Queen Sophie of Mecklenburg who was Queen of Denmark and Norway from 1572 - 1588. This is because at the end of the bridge is the Queen's Warehouse, which was built around 1590 on the orders of Queen Sophie.

Nakskov Harbour 1
Nakskov Havn 1 is a historic tugboat from 1914 built at Nakskov Wooden Shipyard. The boat has been preserved and maintained by the Association for the Preservation of the Tugboat Nakskov Havn 1 since 2002.
The customs house and the port building
The customs house and the harbor building are two beautiful buildings from 1915. At the top of the harbor building you can see the special clock and lighthouse. The harbor building is being renovated and will have new exciting functions in the future.

The Queen's Warehouse
Queen Dowager Sophie had a good sense of economics and trade. Through her connections, she gained great insight into, for example, grain and hop prices. And she always bought when the price was lowest. The large purchases were probably the reason why she bought farms in Nakskov in 1591 for a granary – including Dronningens Pakhus, which is Denmark's oldest port building. An association has been established for the restoration of this historic building.
The industrial port
Nakskov Port is an active industrial port with many production workplaces, from which goods are shipped to the whole world. In fact, all the old shipyard buildings are now filled with new companies and the port has been expanded several times to allow access to more and larger ships. At the blade factory at Nakskov Port, some of the world's largest wind turbine blades are produced, which are shipped to the rest of the world.
