On one side of Nakskov Harbor you'll find a cozy Nyhavn atmosphere, with harbor houses, small alleys to the city and yachts. On the other side, you'll find an active industrial port with thousands of jobs.

Johanne

Denmark's oldest two-masted schooner is called Johanne and is based in Nakskov. She was built in 1895 at Øxenbjerg Shipyard in Svendborg. You can go on holiday cruises, fishing trips and day trips with Johanne.

The mail boat

The mail boat sails public tours around Nakskov Fjord during the summer period. You can also book your own private tours with the boat.

Port of Nakskov 1

Nakskov Havn 1 is a historic tugboat from 1914 built at Nakskov Wooden Shipyard. Since 2002, the boat has been preserved and maintained by the Association for the Preservation of the Tugboat Nakskov Havn 1.

Customs house and harbor building

The customs house and the harbor building are two beautiful buildings from 1915. At the top of the harbor building you can see the special clock and lighthouse. Today, the Nakskov Ship and Maritime Museum is located in the harbor building.

Queen's Warehouse

Queen Dowager Sofie had a keen sense of economics and trade. Through her connections, she gained great insight into grain and hop prices, for example. And she always bought when the price was lowest. Her large purchases were probably the reason why in 1591 she bought farms in Nakskov for grain storage - including the Queen's Warehouse, which is Denmark's oldest harbor building.

Industrial harbor

The Port of Nakskov is an active industrial port with many production workplaces from which goods are shipped all over the world. In fact, all the old shipyard buildings are now filled with new businesses and the port has been expanded several times to allow access to more and larger ships. The blade factory at the Port of Nakskov produces some of the world's largest wind turbine blades, which are shipped to the rest of the world.
